Alana Johnson

Alana Johnson, our VRWN Reference Group Convenor and Australian Rural Women’s Movement pioneer, was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women on International Women’s Day.

The honour was conferred for her lifelong leadership and active involvement in gender equality, rural communities and sustainable agriculture.

She joins the roll with former inspirational inductees including Vida Goldstein, Germaine Greer and Heather Mitchell; women, she says, who were “change makers for gender equality.”

“We are thrilled that Alana has agreed to join the VRWN Reference Group as a strong advocate for women in agriculture and rural communities,” said Emily Phillips, Chief Executive, Agriculture Victoria.
