The Precision Ag Community of Practice had its first ever annual get together last week at Tocal College. The Monday began with a lunch and a welcome by Tocal College Principal Darren Bayley and Manager of Education Delivery Julie White. CoP members then received some social media training from the Creative Collective before heading out on a farm tour and meeting at Largs pub for dinner.
The Tuesday was spent planning ahead for the next 12 months where growing the Community of Practice was the number one priority. It was decided that CoP membership would be split into two groups – Leadership and Community. Expressions of Interest to join these groups should be made to firstname.lastname@example.org
Members also decided to introduce LinkedIn as a way of connecting to professionals in the Precision Ag space and also that we would start issuing a bimonthly newsletter to members – stay tuned for the first edition coming out later this year.
All members were left reinvigorated with a renewed sense of purpose at the importance of the Community of Practice in bridging the gap between farmers and the latest advancements in Precision Ag.
