Would you like to be involved in an exciting new trial of smart technologies that will help shape the future of farming? If the answer is ‘yes’, consider taking part in an on-farm Internet of Things (IoT) trial in four agricultural areas across Victoria.
The trial will assess the contribution that IoT technology makes to farm performance and support the uptake of technologies in Victorian agriculture. IoT technology can improve productivity and yield by tracking farm operations using smart technology, helping farmers make better decisions quickly.
Insights gained through the trial will drive the Victorian Government’s longer-term response to the opportunity of digital agriculture. To succeed, the trial needs engagement with farmers in each trial region.
The trial is seeking Expressions of Interest from:
- Grain farmers around Birchip;
- Dairy farmers around Maffra;
- Sheep farmers around Serpentine; or
- Horticulture farmers around Tatura.
You would join one of four Site Reference Groups across trial regions informing and improving the trial.
To participate in a Site Reference Group, please contact Dr Sze Flett, Director of Horticulture Services at Agriculture Victoria by October 22, 2018, on 0419 573 886. For more information on the trial, go to agriculture.vic.gov.au/agriculture/digital-agriculture
