Cane toads are increasingly being reported and captured in the Hunter Region. Confirmed sightings include Harrington, Medowie, Wallsend, Warners Bay, Swansea and Muswellbrook – a direct result of stowaways via transportation trucks, cars and caravans.
To ensure that we prevent cane toads from establishing and protect our native fauna Hunter Local Land Services are running six workshops in February 2021.

Find out from AMBS Ecology and Heritage experts about:

  • How to tell the difference between native frogs and
    cane toads
  • Cane toad versus native frog ecology
  • How to safely and humanely handle cane toads
  • Identifying high risk sites for potential new cane toad incursions
  • How to report a suspected cane toad
