Cost share incentives are available to cover up to 50% of the cost of completing a Whole Farm Plan.
Across the Goulburn-Murray Irrigation District (GMID), irrigators are eligible for up to $38 per hectare for the survey component of a Whole Farm Plan and $44 per hectare for design. *
The benefits of developing and implementing a Whole Farm Plan can include:
- Improved irrigation efficiency and water movement
- Salinity control
- Nutrient management
- Improved property aesthetics
- Increased biodiversity/environmental benefits
- Improved drainage
- Maximises production per ML
- Ability to implement development in stages.
Whole Farm Planning picks up on property characteristics such as topography, irrigation supply, irrigation systems, environmental, cultural features and matches the farm layout to your objectives whilst identifying and managing risks.

For Rochester, Central Goulburn, Shepparton and Murray Valley, incentives are capped at a maximum $4,600 (ex GST) for survey and $10,000 for survey and design.
