Apple & Pear Australia Ltd (APAL) has announced the recipients of its 2018 Awards for Excellence at Hort Connections 2018.  Nominations were submitted to the APAL Board for consideration with a number of high quality and impressive candidates being proposed. Congratulations to all the recipients and a special thanks to everyone who made the effort to nominate a colleague within the industry.

David Williams, Agriculture Victoria received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

David has constantly demonstrated excellence in the apple and pear industry and is well known in the research, development and extension space where he has over 40 years’ experience to orchard pest management. He currently leads the second phase of the PIPS Integrated Pest and Disease Management project where the codling moth parasitoid, Mastrus ridens, is to be released and evaluated in Qld, NSW, Vic, SA, and Tas.
