Giffard West (cropping)

The Giffard region is between Yarram and Sale in South East Victoria.

Soil core pulley system used to create a one metre soil core, which enables 10 centimetre samples to to taken in the paddock and also enable visual identification of soil layers. A piece of a soil core which clearly shows different characteristics of the soil, that being the greyer vs redder colour. Soil core from the Gifford paddock, which highlights a gradual change in soil characteristics down the profile.
