National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for Australians to learn about our shared histories, achievements and contributions to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Reconciliation is about strengthening and celebrating the relationship between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The theme for this year’s Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June) is ‘Grounded in truth. Walk together with courage’. The message is that to achieve positive relationships, story-telling must be grounded in a foundation of truth. The theme encourages people to engage in conversations that may feel challenging so that we can walk together with courage towards a unified future.

How will you mark National Reconciliation Week 2019?  Find an event near you or register your own at reconciliation.org.au/national-reconciliation-week.  Then, share your stories and celebrations using #NRW2019 and #VRWNetwork.
