iSolarCloud, a web-based interface developed by Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. is used for real-time monitoring of energy data in the Agrivoltaics experiment at the Tatura SmartFarm. Three smart inverters with a combined power capacity of 60 kW and two batteries with a storage capacity of 20 kWh are installed in the irrigation pump shed adjacent to the Agrivoltaics experiment. The inverters regulate energy production, storage, consumption and grid feed-in, and communicate data to the iSolarCloud via Wi-Fi installed onsite. Data can be accessed with a smartphone app.
Scientist Rajandeep Singh explained that “the iSolarCloud is fast and provides highly reliable data management. It has been very handy for monitoring and downloading data crucial to understanding the potential of the different solar panel configurations to off-set the energy costs of the running irrigation pump and helps to diagnose faults in the system if any problems arise”.
