Georgina Binns

Georgina has been fascinated by insects since she was a child and has yet to meet an insect she doesn’t like. She completed her PhD on warning signals and predator-prey interactions at Macquarie University in 2023, during which she enjoyed teaching undergraduate Invertebrate Biology at both Macquarie and the University of Sydney.

In 2022, Georgina was hired as a research officer on a collaborative project that aims to create natural probiotics for honeybees, to increase their resistance to common diseases. She has a wide interest in entomological subjects, but particularly in behavioural ecology, evolution of defensive traits and systematics.
