Do you want to know more about renewable energy options? Interested in understanding more about bioenergy?
Agriculture Victoria’s energy webinar series shone the spotlight on bioenergy. Bioenergy is generated from organic materials such as manure, straw or other organic residues through processes including anaerobic digestion and combustion.
The webinar explored anaerobic digestion with Stephan Tait, Senior Process Engineer at Scolexia and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southern Queensland. He explained the process of anaerobic digestion, the types of anaerobic digesters and the opportunities and benefits for agriculture.
Following on Sohum Gandhi, Director of Enriva, walked us through a number of thermal bioenergy systems Enriva has designed and implemented on-farm. He explained the opportunities and benefits of this technology for protected cropping systems.
Kelly Wickham, Industry Development Coordinator – Energy at Agriculture Victoria rounded out the webinar. Kelly provided an overview of the current bioenergy systems operating and under development in Victoria including on-farm applications.
This was followed by a great question and answer session which has been included in this recording.
The webinar was recorded on 22 July 2021 and all information was accurate at the time of recording.
