With increasing electricity prices and a transition to decarbonise our businesses, innovation will be crucial to the wine industry in overcoming challenges and capitalising on opportunities to reduce costs and carbon emissions.
In this webinar hosted by Maggie Jarrett, a Viticulture Development Officer at NSW Department of Primary Industries, we heard directly from three diverse NSW based farmers who recently completed the journey from concept to deployment of energy efficiency hubs, including on-farm energy generation with solar panels, flow batteries and peer-to-peer energy trading. Other speakers included NSW DPI Climate Research Officer, Michael Cashen; project manager, Aidan Moore; and technology experts David Hill from Seven20 Electrical and Justin McFarlane from Rethink Sustainability.
At the conclusion of the webinar there was the opportunity to ask the farmers, project officers or technical groups any burning renewable and energy storage questions.
The webinar was recorded on 7 October 2021 and all information was accurate at the time of recording.
