Support for Innovation: links and programs

Fishing businesses and fleets are full of novel ideas and designs that could revolutionize the way businesses operate and fishers feed the community. Knowing how to take it to the next stage can be daunting though, so we’ve compiled a list of some of the programs out there to help. FRDC Extension Officer Network  State A point of contact and source of information regarding FRDC support programs, including RACs, IPAs etc  Ongoing 
FINNOVATION  A partnership between FRDC and an innovation investor (to be determined) to accelerate the growth of Australia’s aquatic innovation ecosystem.   
Cooperative Research Centres- current list  Wide-ranging research initiatives, notable groups (depending on your interests) include Blue Economy CRC, Marine Bioproducts CRC, iMove CRC, Future Food Systems CRC  Rolling program 
Cooperative Research Centres- Projects  Funding rounds for short term, industry led research collaboration.  Ongoing, funding rounds typically twice a year  
QLD Commercial and Charter Fishing Grants  Projects and programs  that encourage behaviour change, industry modernisation, innovation in processes or technology, mitigating ecological risks, sustainable fishing practices, research, and best practice management
