Job Title: Director, Horticulture Services

Organisation: Agriculture Victoria

Location: Attwood

Over the last 15 years, I have had the privilege of working in natural resource management across Victoria as well as Research Director at the Arthur Rylah Institute for Ecosystems Research in the Victorian Department of Envioronment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP). I am currently the Director for Horticulture Services in Agriculture Victoria at the Department of Jobs, Transport, Precincts and Regions(DJPR).

As a plant pathologist for many years based in regional Victoria (Tatura), I have conducted research in soil-borne diseases in horticultural crops, pastures and field crops. Dealing with pests and diseases and understanding why diseases take off in crops has always been my interest. Supporting people including farmers and growers with resources, tools and techniques such as Integrated Pest Management is an important way for commercial enterprises to maintain productivity and sustainability.

Having re-located from regional Victoria to Bayside Melbourne, I am keen to continue to create green environments and source locally grown fruit and vegetables that are in season.
