Livestock Industry Development Officer, Agriculture Victoria, Maffra

James Paulet works as a Livestock Industry Development officer in Maffra, for Agriculture Victoria, where he assists with Local Economic Recovery work (fire, flood & drought recovery) across East Gippsland, as well as helping to deliver the TopSoils project, which is a part of the National Landcare Program. James previously worked for 2 years as an Irrigation officer, delivering the Sustainable Irrigation Project in the Macalister Irrigation Area.

James grew up on a beef farm in North East Victoria, before studying Agricultural Science at Charles Sturt University. Both of these experiences have provided him with a good grounding and understanding of the Australian agricultural industries, both from a production and a financial perspective. He started with Agriculture Victoria in early 2019 & moved to Gippsland.

James has a passion for Agriculture and is keen to support young farmers through their initial years of business, by helping to provide them with the tools to be able to make good, financially sound decisions for their business.
