Backup power options in agriculture webinar

Power outages can significantly impact farm businesses. Loss of power disrupts critical farm infrastructure such as livestock water systems, electric fences, milk-harvesting equipment, automated feeding systems, heat or refrigeration, and irrigation systems.

Agriculture Victoria is hosting a webinar to talk through backup power options during a power outage.

During the webinar Liz Fletcher, Birdwood Energy, will speak about the options for providing alternative power in a power outage including generators and batteries with solar. Liz will discuss the key things you need to consider in the process of sizing a system, installation and operation.

Farmer Bruce Manintveld, will share his experience and the benefits of using backup power when there is a power outage. Bruce operates a dairy farm in Gippsland and has a generator to allow milking to continue during a power outage.
