Learn how to improve the energy efficiency of your pressurised irrigation system in our next energy webinar. Irrigation assessments are one way farmers can use to identify ways to save energy, costs and stress.
Lifetime pumping costs can be more than five times the capital cost of a pumping system, so designing and maintaining an efficient irrigation system is vital to minimising costs.
A recent Agriculture Victoria irrigation system assessment identified simple modifications improved energy efficiency by 20 per cent, resulting in cost savings of $2,600 per season or more than $40,000 over the life of the system.
During the webinar Agriculture Victoria’s Nick O’Halloran and an irrigator who has implemented changes to their system will share:
- How to measure the energy efficiency of pumped irrigation systems.
- Common causes of poor energy efficiency.
- Tools available to identify improvement opportunities and quantify dollar savings.
- Farmer case studies to demonstrate the types of solutions and potential cost savings possible.
