Job Title:  Research Leader Plant Pathology

Dr Jacqueline Edwards is a plant pathologist with over 30 years’ experience in both government and university research environments. She is the Research Leader of Plant Pathology in Agriculture Victoria and an Associate Professor with La Trobe University. She has worked with the Department for 20 years and prior to that with The University of Melbourne. She leads a team of 27 plant pathologists who conduct applied research into disease management and biosecurity for the grains and horticultural industries to minimise the impact of disease on production, protect market access and reduce the environmental impacts of production. Her team includes diagnosticians in the Department’s Crop Health Services diagnostic service and she is the curator of the Victorian Plant Pathology Herbarium.

Outside of work, Jacky is a member of Ceres Community Environment Park in Brunswick where she grows vegetables in her plot in the community garden and is part of the community chook group which tends approximately 40 hens.
