The Biosecurity for Beekeepers BOLT course provides information about:
- keeping your honey bees healthy
- looking for pests and diseases
- exotic mite surveillance and
- some measures you can use to protect your apiary.
The course supports the Australian Honey Bee Industry Biosecurity Code of Practice (the Code). The development of this course was funded by AgriFutures Australia, and is delivered by the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council and Plant Health Australia.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for individuals who have at least a basic understanding of beekeeping practices, and would like to learn more about protecting their bees from pests and diseases.
Is there a cost involved?
This course is free and accessible to all Australian commercial beekeepers.
Access the course
Head to the Biosecurity for Beekeepers course log-in page to register. There are a few simple steps to enrol, and then you will be able to access and complete the course.

Assessment
Completing this course and the assessment is one way to meet the training requirement specified in the Australian Honey Bee Industry Code of Practice and would be listed on your Appendix 1 form every year.

i HAVE DONE THE BOLT COURSE AND HAVE AS YET NOT RECIEVED MY CERTIFICATE I SAT THE TEST ON JULY 18TH AT THE LIBRARY IN BURNIE WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME.

I completed the course on Thursday 30/01/2023 and said congratulations you have completed the course but when I eventually foud the button? it said course incomplete. so I redid the course on Sunday 01/02/2023
same result. nuw I can’t find the certificate download site??? please help. I left feedback. The course is very
